I’m currently the head coach for FC Tulsa, 2nd division pro soccer team. I grew up in Tulsa, attended Booker T Washington HS and the University of Dayton, OH. I studied business and communications.
My love for football started when my father Michael Sr. Put together a soccer team and coached. I fell in love with the sport right away. I attended the 94 World Cup match Nigeria vs Bulgaria, which gave me a strong passion to connect with Nigerian Football.
Between my father and I, I always had a good amount of pressure on me to succeed. From early ages, it was instilled in me that you can achieve anything you’re willing to work for. From the age of 4/5 the sport has always been a significant part of my life. while people were celebrating holidays and life events, I was traveling and competing.
I always knew the game will be part of my life forever. Strong work ethic, communication skills from university, leadership from playing, transitioning to coach was inevitable. After a playing career that took me to Los Angeles and Portland, I was ready to try my hand in coaching.
I believe in goal setting, but more importantly I believe in being present every moment of every day. Sometimes you concentrate on goals and you get frustrated with the present and forget to get the most out of your current circumstance.
I believe that if I try to be the best I can every day, opportunities like coaching the Nigerian National team, or MLS can become attainable. At the moment I want to be the best coach for FC Tulsa, and continue to develop my abilities.
I’m a lifelong student of the game and have completed my UEFA A European coaching license, as well as my USSF A the American equivalent. I’m currently enrolled in the Pro license.
I’m looking forward to what God has planned for my future and I’m prepared to deal with all the great moments and adversity life has in store.
